While a Design can be thought of as a recipe for how to make a family of parts, a Model can be thought of as one of those parts. A Design is the recipe... and a Model is the cake, one particular instance or baked version of your cake recipe.
Said another way, a Design represents a class of objects and a Model represents one instance of the class.
We will cover models in more detail in a later unit.
